TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 28th
Just watched some film on Broad Ripple running back Martell Baker. The 6-2 220 Baker is a powerful runner with
decent speed. Might be a nice fullback or short yardage back at a D1 school. Also could be a heck of a linebacker. A
definite D1 talent.

SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 26th
Kokomo's Braxton Shelton is a stud. The 5-11 205 running back is explosive and powerful. Shelton is another overlooked
Indiana Prep standout.

SATURDAY SPETMBER 25th
Watch out for North Central OL Malcolm Dardy who is (6-4, 330). The film I just watched showed he is a big time
player in this class of 2010.

THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 24th
Terre Haute North has some nice young football prospects to keep an eye on in OT Dakota Vermillion (6-5, 255, SO),
TE Calvin Blank (6-5, 225, FR), WR Sydney Moore (6-1, 170, FR) and DE A.J. Grady (6-2, 238, FR).

WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 23rd
Look for East Chicago 6-3 junior swingman
Donte Brown to emerge as an outstanding basketball recruit. Brown, who was
at EC as a freshman,  played last season at Gary Wallace with his cousin Branden Dawson and is now back at EC.

MONDAY SEPTEMBER 21st
South Central basketball standout
Jake Kitchell will play at Indiana State. The 6-9 forward picked the Sycamores over
Oregon State and Valparaiso.

SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 20th
Warren Central CB
James Manuel has committed to play for Minnesota. The talented Manuel picked the Gophers over
Louisville.

TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 15th
Crown Point has its second D1 baseball recruit pick a college. Senior OF/P
Josh Negele will continue his baseball career
at Indiana State. Negele was 9-1 on the mound with a 2.19 ERA for the Bulldogs. Look for CP senior first baseman
Jeff Limbaugh to also pick a D1 school.

MONDAY SEPTEMBER 14th
Andrean senior baseball standout
Ken Mahala has committed to play at Ball State. Mahala helped lead Andrean to the
Class 3A state championship. Mahala hit .396 with 10 HR and 43 RBI and was 7-1 on the mound.

FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 11th
Condolences to former East Chicago Central standout
Angel Garcia as he will miss the 2009-2010 season at Memphis.
Garcia, who helped led the Cardinals to the 2007 State title, will miss the season after tearing his ACL in his knee
during workouts on Thursday.

Rough day for some Indiana natives trying to make NFL rosters. The following players who played their high school ball
in Indiana were waived in the final cut down. Hopefully some of these guys will land on other teams or on practice
squads.
UPDATES: Mattison and Reitz were added to the Ravens practice squad. Baker and Billingsley added to the Dolphins
practice squad and Marten was signed to the Bears Practice squad. Moore signed to the Seahawks practice squad.
Weatherford signs to be Jets punter.

the U of L for their football game on Saturday.

THE TIMES NEWSPAPER is reporting Serbian exchange student Aleksa Kojcinovic has enrolled at Wheeler High School.
He is a 6-8 forward who would pair with 6-6 seniors Andrew Rudakas and Petar Todorovic for the Bearcats.




SUNDAY AUGUST 30th
Two junior (class of of 2010) offensive line prospects that have emerged are 6-4 280
Ted Karras  of Cathedral and
6-5, 265
Kiaro Holts of Warren Central. Both are first year starters for these state powers. Karras comes from
great bloodlines as his grandfather is former NFL player Ted Karras and his great uncle is NFL hall of famer Alex
Karras. His father Ted (now the coach at Marian College) was also an outstanding player at Hobart, Northwestern and
a brief stint with the Washington Redskins. The younger Karras has outstanding feet and size playing right tackle for
the Irish who have upset class 5A #1 ranked teams Carmel and Warren Central in back to back weeks.
Holts is a big time left tackle prospect for Warren. He has outstanding feet and size and is explosive off the ball. He
will only get better and better. Look for both these two to emerge as big time college prospects.

FRIDAY AUGUST 28th
Former Lake Central two sport standout
Eric Summers, who had signed a letter of intent to play baseball at Purdue,
will now play basketball at Purdue-Calumet.

THURSDAY AUGUST 27th
Former Gary Roosevelt and University of Kansas player
Tyrone Appleton has enrolled at D2 school Southwest Baptist
(MO). Appleton will have one year to play at Southwest Baptist.

Jack Houpt will play for coach John Pigatti at South Suburban JC. Last season Houpt played
at a prep school.

East Chicago Coach Abe Brown informs us that 2009 grads
Matt Julkes and Bryce Walker are headed to NE Nebraska
JC and to Vincennes JC respectively. Also 2008 grad DeMarko Johnson will play at Blackhawk East JC in Illinois.

Scott Donley has committed to play baseball at Virginia Tech. Donley has helped lead the
Bulldogs to the semi state the last two years. Senior teammates Jeff Limbaugh and Josh Negele could also sign with

Dolapo MaCarthy is now headed to the nations premier prep school power in Hargrave Military Prep
School in Virginia according to the TIMES of NWI.  The 6-6 QB had signed with Ft Scott (KS) JC after being offered
scholarships by Iowa, Indiana, Michigan State and Central Michigan.

MONDAY AUGUST 10th (2)
Indianapolis Howe teammates
Jordan Manuel and P.J. Boutte have committed to the University of Detroit and Head
Coach Ray McCallum. Manuel is a 6-8 power forward and Boutte a 5-8 point guard. Meanwhile Manual 6-1 guard
Chrishawn Hokpins has decided to stay in state and suit up for the Butler Bulldogs.

MONDAY AUGUST 10th (1)

Josh Mayo has signed to play professional basketball for Stade Clermontois in the French B
League.

SUNDAY AUGUST 9th
Purdue and IU have both added several in state walk ons to their rosters. Purdue has added LB Kakpindi Jamiru
(Cathedral), FB Kurt Freytag (Carmel), QB Skyler Titus (NorthWood) and OL Connor Snapp (Valparaiso). The Hoosiers
have added WR Kevin Piet (Valparaiso), LB David Blackwell (Bloomington South), OL Steve Fiacable (FW Dwenger), OL
Tyler McGuigan (Lawrence North) and LS Josh Keyt (North Putnam). Former Munster QB Joe Gill has hooked up with
Western Illinois as a preferred walk on.

SATURDAY AUGUST 8th
Dustin DeMuth picks IU. The three sport LaPorte standout shortstop picks the same school that his sister Jenny
played basketball at. DeMuth also received considerable college attention as a QB in football and as a guard in
basketball.

Dominique Ferguson who played the last three seasons at Lawrence North has now committed to play for new coach
Isiah Thomas at Florida International. Ferguson, who once was committed to Kentucky,  announced earlier that he will
play his senior season at Hargrave Military.

Purdue has added their 3rd in state football recruit in LB
Joe Gilliam. The Southport standout joins DE Ryan Isaac of
Michigan City and WR Charles Turwudzo of Brownsburg as Indiana natives headed to Purdue.THURSDAY AUGUST 6th
Former Cathedral and Cincinnati North College Hill player
Keenan Ellis is headed to ASA Junior College in New York City.
The 6-11 Ellis played at Cathedral as a freshman before joining O.J. Mayo and Bill Walker at North College Hill. He
originally signed with Mike Davis and UAB.

Notre Dame has landed its second class of 2010 basketball recruit in Glenbrook North (IL) 6-6 shooter

Ryan Smith and Jonathan Nwannunu make their college choices. Smith has chosen New Mexico
Military and Nwannunu has chosen Vincennes University. Look for these talented frontliners to play Division 1 hoops
soon. Another Pirate who has moved on is  6"6 swingman
Darius Stevens, who has transferred to Laporte LaLumiere for
his senior season. he is going to play for the former Michigan City Rogers High School, Indiana University, and
Providence player Delray Brooks, who is the coach at LaLumiere. Darius is  the son of the late NBA player and former
Iowa State Cyclone star Barry Stevens.

Coach Bill Lynch and the Indiana Hoosiers are on a roll with now 19 verbal commits for the 2010 class. Cincinnati Elder
