Warren Central at Merrillville
SATURDAY AUGUST 22nd
Warren Central at Merrillville
Whether is was first game jitters or the long bus ride the Warriors
came out flat. Warren woke up in the third dominating this game.
Player observations
WARREN CENTRAL
Derek Hart  QB 6-4 210 (2010)- looked much improved. Showed nice
touch on deep ball and good pocket awareness. Should be D1 recruit
Shakir Bell RB 5-8 185 (2010)- first year starter played behind two
talented players last year. Bowling ball with great balance and speed.
Should be a definite MAC player
Maurice McGee WR 5-10 175 (2010)- small but extremely quick and
speedy wideout
Eric Robinson-Berry 6-1 190 (2011)- breakout player  long arms and
prototypical D1 ability.
Michael Gegner C 6-3 265 (2010)- Center with lot of leadership and
skill.
Kiaro Holts T 6-5 265 (2011)- will emerge as one of state's top juniors.
Great feet for his size
Elijah Jones 6-2 285 (2010)- Has a great combination of strength and
quickness. Showed why he already has D1 offers.
Kris Harley 6-2 268 (2011)- Blue collar DT with high motor. Already
offered by Stanford
Malcolm Bunnell 6-3 342 (2010)- Simply put a large human being with
surprising quickness for his size
James Manuel CB 6-0 189 (2010)- great cover corner. Leaning to
accepting offer from Louisville
Jerry Boyd S 6-2 190 (2010) rangy safety with good ball skills.
Korree Terrell LB 6-2 2010- LB who I didn't know about until now.
Picked off two passes and plays sideline to sideline. Possible sleeper D1
recruit
Nick Temple LB 5-11 195 (2011)- teams with Terrell to form mean LB
crew. Hard Hitter with mean streak.
MERRILLVILLE
Denzel Pierce RB 5-8 170 (2011)- went out with injury. Has great
quickness and field vision. What position in college??
James Travis DL 6-0 238 (2010)- Undersized but tough and quick.
Great wrestler. D1 looks
Zach Raspopovich QB 6-2 160 (2011)- Much improved after starting a
few games last year. Strong arm and good leader. His receiver running
poor routes led to a few interceptions. Three sport athlete
Dominique Gray CB 5-8 156 (2010)- small but quick corner with good
cover skills, Had 2 ints. in this game
Christian Matthews WR 6-2 182 (2010)- Newcomer who may be their
best athlete. Came close three times to taking Kickoffs to the house.
Will be a huge factor in the Duneland.
Julius Scroggins T 6-4 256 (2010) improving OL with decent feet.
Matthew Neal DL 6-4 258 (2011) - Brother of Purdue's Mike Neal.
Good size needs more experience.
