Cathedral at Carmel
Through the magic of video streaming courtesy of www.ihsaasports.org
just had a chance to watch the Cathedral at Carmel game from week
one. Carmel really should have won this game but costly turnovers and
penalties really hurt the Greyhounds who dominated time of possession
and yardage. Both teams defenses were outstanding.
CATHEDRAL
Kofi Hughes QB 6-2 200 (2010)- Great athlete committed to IU. It
will be interesting if they keep him at QB where he could be similar to
Kellen Lewis or move him to WR or DB. Either way just makes plays.
Camaron Beard DE 6-6 250 (2010)- Committed to Cincinnati. Big strong
and mean. Would be ranked much higher if not for missing most of last
season due to injury. Great frame to get bigger. High Motor.
Jake Zupancic DB 5-11 190 (2010)- The ultimate self made player. All
over the field. Has an offer from Stanford.
Scott Miller K/P 5-9 150 (2010)- The unsung hero of this game helping
the Irish win the battle of field position. Left footed.
Stevie Wilson WR 5-9 155 (2010)- Undersized probably for D1 but a
play maker none the less as a receiver or returner,
Matt Widemon LT 6-7 300 (2010)- First year starter with great feet
needs to get stronger. If he went JUCO could develop into a big time
player.
Ted Karras RT 6-4 275 (2011)- Top junior prospect starting for first
time. A throwback players with great toughness and excellent motor.
Should be big time D1
Nick Najem RB 5-10 190 (2010)- Don't underestimate this kid. Full of
energy will make some school a nice RB. Made play after play with big
heart.
Tom Bemenderfer TE 6-2 220 (2010)- Didn't catch any passes, but
every time I watched him made a key block.
Kyle Kennedy OLB 6-3 200 (2011)- Made a lot of plays a way from the
ball. Has a chance to be big time prospect.
Jacob Campbell ILB 6-2 195 (2011)- Every play on defense #50 was
right in the middle of the action. Makes Plays.
Tyler Willis DB 5-9 180 (2012)- Active DB with great feel for the
game. Recruiters keep this kid on your radar.
CARMEL
Devin Brinson RB 6-0 185 (2011)- Without a doubt Carmel's best
prospect and one of the state's top juniors. Has a great combination of
size and speed
Jesse Hollander RB 6-0 220 (2011)- The second part of the
Greyhounds Thunder and Lightning backfield. Strong tough runner. This
duo will keep recruiters at Carmel the next few years.
Brian East OLB 6-3 195 (2010)- Why no offers yet? Great football
player.
Adam Davis ILB 6-0 185 (2010)- Little undersized but all over the
field.
Jimmy Herman S 6-3 195 (2012)- Watch for him to emerge among
state top sophs.
Ronnie Fowlkes S 6-0 170 (2010)- Speedy corner who makes plays
Billy Davis TE 6-3 205 (2011)- Combination of a good athlete and
strength. Sure fire D1 prospect.
Nick Logan WR 6-0 165 (2010) and Jon Schmidt WR 5-8 160 (2010)-
Play makers who don't have the D1 size or speed but should be great
lower level players.
A couple of others to watch are
Eric Courter T 6-3 230 (2010)
Trent Hall G 6-1 250 (2011)
Dylan Mallory WR 6-5 185 (2012)
Michael Del Busto OL 6-0 215 (2010)
Shawn Heffern OLB 6-5 200 (2012)
